I have a 1996 Dodge Caravan. the outer tie rod on the passenger side broke off, i would like to know how to fix it and is it a easy fix. Also since the outer tie rod broke does that mean i have to replace the inter tie rod? To me it looks pretty simple but that just me! are there any special tools i need?|||To replace the outer there is really no problems however if you need to replace the inner you have to have a special tool(inner tie rod tool) although as long as the inner is not damaged and does not have slack you shouldn%26#039;t have to replace it...Don%26#039;t forget to get an alignment after wards though.|||Like Sara just said, there is a special tool you need to be able to remove it with. (at lease on a Ford Escort) I just had to replace mine last night and it%26#039;s not really all that bad, but there really isn%26#039;t much room to work. Ceck the next post. Ran out of characters
