IT IS POSSIBLE TO MOUNT A TIRE WRONG, WHAT YOU DAMAGE DURING THE INSTALL CAN VARY, TIE ROD ENDS WOULD MOST LIKELY BE THE LAST ITEM DAMAGED, PUTTING A STRAIN ON THE VEHICLE WITH AN IMPROPERLY MOUNTED TIRE COULD MOST OFTEN WARP YOUR ROTORS AND DAMAGE YOUR BREAKING SYSTEM. YOU CAN ALSO PUT YOUR SELF AT RISK OF LOOSING THE WHEEL DURING MOVEMENT. ALSO THINGS EFFECTED WOULD BE, WHEEL BEARINGS, TIRE WEAR, CV SHAFTS AND EVEN BACK INTO TRANSMISSION BEARINGS. YOU HAVE TO INSTALL THE TIRE CORRECTLY WITH PROPER TORQUE AND TECHNIQUE, IF YOU DON%26#039;T FEEL YOU HAVE DONE IT CORRECTLY CALL A MOBIL REPAIR MAN OR EVEN A LOCAL TOW COMPANY AND HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO YOUR PREFERRED MECHANIC.|||I wouldn%26#039;t know how that could ever happen.|||no, he would have to wreck in to the lift|||yes if you tighten too tight|||That is really really hard to do. If the wheels had reverse offset, It COULD rub on the knuckle.
But, that would be a new one for me.|||If the tie rod is bent it could have been done with a shop jack if it was jacked up manually. I can think of no other way that anyone changing tires could unintentionally harm a tie rod end. The tie rod is a very tough joint and normally takes years of driving abuse to weaken it. If it fell apart it%26#039;s because it needed replaced.|||In theory yes, however, in theory, it is also possible to set the car on fire just by changing a tire.
If you have a spare tire on your car right now, you need to look no further to what your problems are (I鈥檓 assuming that you car is shaking at high speeds and handling poorly)
It鈥檚 far more likely that the tire is just not tightened all the way, or unbalanced, you would have to either drop the car off the lift or run into something fairly hard to damage the tie rods.|||Unlikely to the point of science fiction.
