Tie-Rod end on mustang?

Ok i just want to be sure before ripping out the tie rod end

My steering's dead zone is very wide, so the steering feels very loose in the middle and my front tires wearing out on the outer edge. My first guess is the tie rod end but i want to get some more ideas from mechanics that see stuff like this everyday.

I already changed my Ball joint by the way.

Yes The tie rods are easy to change, However get them pretty close to the original as possible mark the shaft if possible and when don get it aligned, Good luck looks like you are on your way to becoming a good mechanic.

the tie rod is very easy to inspect and see what condition it is in. I recommend this. If it appears to have a torn boot, or is worn, then replace it(there is more than one). What year mustang?
If the tie rod is bad jack that side of the car up so the tire is off the ground. Grab the tire at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions and rock is towards you and towards the other side of the car. If there is play in it, the tie rod is bad. Check the control arm bushings and have them check the alignment. If the camber or caster is off that will cause tire wear.
Well it sounds like it might be a rack and pinion I would check for fluid leaking from the bellows boots covering the inner tie rods if no leaks then go ahead and replace the inner and outer tie rod.
