1994 honda accord lx shakes when driving inner tie rods or outer?

i have a 1994 honda accord lx coupe with 141,000 miles on it. My car shakes really bad when I drive it about 20MPH and over. My rear right tire has 2 ,about 1 inch deep cuts in it . I took it to a shop and he said that the inner tie rod on the front right needs to be changed and that it will keep messing up the alignment and damaging your tires if it is not done. if I change the inner should i also change the left side as well ? and change the outer tie rods or just the inner. They told me the outer is fine but I was curious if i should change the front outer and inner together . Also is it easy to change the inner and outer tie rods. Thank you very much for your time

I would get both outer replaced. They are of the same design and have been on the car as long as each other in many cases.

The inner tie rods are of a much different design and wear in a totally different way. On cars that use a steering box I would, but your Honda has rack and pinion steering.

One thing that you did not mention is the boots on the rack. Have then checked out and replaced if necessary, after all they protect the inner tie rod ends.

Now if you plan on owning this for another 140000 miles, and you want the piece of mind that replacing all four joints will give you (and you have the money to spare) it might be worth the extra cost.

it is easy to change them together since you have to remove the outer to replace the inner.... You can do it yourself with some mechanical knowledge and an inner tie rod end tool(the ford tie rod tool works great on hondas) or a universal tool.......
