Is it possible to change one of the tie rods in a rack and pinion?

My aunt decided to hit a curb yesterday, and she ruined a lower control arm. She also bent the tie rod on the rack and pinion system. I am wondering if you can replace just the tie rod on that rack, or do you have to replace the whole rack?

Each side has an inner tie rod, and an outer tie rod end. The latter is very easy to change; the inner is decidedly more difficult. But, they all are removable; you don't have to replace the rack. Usually if one is physically bent, it's the inner.

You can replace the tie rod end seperately. Just call your local parts store like Napa or Advance Auto parts.
it would be best to replace the whole thing in my opinion the reck and pinion also the tie rods
sure you can replace just the 1 that goes into the rack. it takes a special tool to get it out though. that tool i think is not available to the public. you might check auto zone and see if they rent that tool.
